Students enrolled in this eight-session creative writing workshop will begin by briefly reviewing the craft of writing in the three major genres (poetry, fiction, and nonfiction). The workshop鈥檚 main focus will be on student writing, but students will also be encouraged to explore their own creative process and progress by way of optional readings. Our course will be structured using writing exercises and in-depth discussions of student writing. Students will learn how to talk about writing, sharpen their craft, practice active reading, and produce and workshop at least two full-length pieces in whatever genre(s) they choose. Moreover, students will also have the opportunity to publicly read their work at a special COLLAGE reading at the course鈥檚 conclusion.

This intimate, two-hour workshop is geared toward both beginning writers as well as more experienced writers who want to jumpstart their writing. *Reading date for workshop participants: 1 June, 9pm C.
